Display Equipment For Trade Shows And Other Events

As the popularity of exhibitions and trade shows increases in South Africa and companies realise that these events represent some of the best opportunities to attract a wider clientele for both the retailing and distribution of their goods so the variety of display equipment that is used by those taking a show stand has increased.

The display equipment that can be supplied by a specialist display equipment manufacturer today means that there are display solutions for every company not matter what its size. Small start ups can afford basic shell schemes to give their presence at a trade show or exhibition some gravitas and the wide variety of other, more advanced display equipment means that companies that want to maximise their return on investment for their participation in the exhibition or trade show can find ways to make their stands extremely eye catching and attractive.

Many of the methods that can be employed to make sure that a stand is as attractive to passing foot traffic as possible need not cost the Earth. There are a variety of different flags and banners for instance that can be designed and printed extremely cheaply and new printing methods and the technologies used in the manufacture of these flags and banners means that they are more eye catching than has traditionally been the case. These banners and flags are extremely easy to erect and take up very little space when being transported. The turnaround time for the manufacture of this type of display equipment is also extremely quick.

modulboxThe Amazing Modul-Box

As the science of exhibition display equipment becomes more advanced every now and then a breakthrough occurs which changes the way in which companies and organisations prepare for and take part in exhibitions and trade shows. One of these breakthroughs is the amazing Modul-box. In essence the Modul-box is a trade show stand that is entirely self contained and when erected allows for the full functionality of the most advanced trade and exhibition show stands to be employed in order to increase sales leads.

The Modul-box is both easy to transport and can be branded to suit the requirements of almost any business. With the Modul-box every business has the opportunity to demonstrate and showcase their products and services without the stress and strain that used to be part and parcel of erecting many of the older shell and modular display equipment.

The Easy To Use Shopping Kiosk

When it comes to the retail arena display units have been the same for years. Developments in new materials have made the shopping kiosk easier to erect, lighter and more visually attractive. The newest types of shopping kiosk have taken these developments to a whole new level.

With bold modern design that not only makes the shopping kiosk into an invaluable tool for the display of products, but also promotes the interactivity and sense of excitement that is today required to turn heads and make sales. These newest shopping kiosk designs have security features that prevent theft of product and are the perfect synthesis between form and function, as well as epitomising the new styles that characterise display equipment of the 21st century.

Scan Display to exhibit – Euroshop

Scan Display to exhibit – Euroshop

Scan Display to exhibit at #1 retail trade fair, Euroshop

This year Scan Display will be among the 1 800 exhibitors at Euroshop, the world’s leading retail trade fair. The show will run from 26 February to 2 March 2011, in Düsseldorf, Germany.

Justin Hawes, MD of Scan Display, strongly agrees that Euroshop is the ‘premiere’ trade fair of its kind. He says: “No other retail show is as big or as globally inclusive as Euroshop. Exhibitors and visitors from around the world attend it. This creates a unique opportunity to network, see the latest products and technology, and get an injection of creative inspiration – all in one space, on an international scale.”

In previous years, members of the Scan team have attended the show, but this will be the first time the company showcases itself on the Euroshop platform. Scan will co-exhibit with German partners, Mo Systeme, the creators of the Modulbox, a portable marketing system. Scan manufactures and markets the Modulbox locally, and this inspiring tool will form the basis of the Scan-Mo Systeme exhibit.

Justin strongly believes that exhibiting is a valuable marketing tool, as it is the only medium that allows for face-to-face interactions with key industry players. He says: “The opportunities that come out of exhibiting at Euroshop, such as new business partnerships and exposure to new clients, represent a huge return on investment on the cost of exhibiting.”

Euroshop is only held every three years, and 2011 will be its 17th incarnation. This year 104 000 trade visitors from 93 countries are expected to attend, while the exhibitors will be representing 50 countries and filling up a floor space of 200 000m².

Scan Display’s Modulbox

Scan Display’s Modulbox

Scan Display’s Modulbox featured at MSP Developments charity golf day

Scan Display sponsored the use of its unique event-in-a-box product, the Modulbox, at the recent MSP Developments ‘Play to Give’ Charity golf day.

The Modulbox is a versatile event platform; folded away it forms a mobile cube, and opened out it provides a shell structure that can be furnished according to the requirements of the event. In addition, the panels of the Modulbox provide an ideal surface for highly visible branding, and can be positioned in a variety of combinations, allowing one to easily change the layout design.

MSP Developments chose Lydia House, a home for abandoned children in Somerset West, to benefit from their fundraising efforts. The money raised will be used to build them a much needed larger home.

Over 70 companies and many local celebrities were present on the day – including big names such as Kerry McGregor, Rob Louw, Lieschen Botes, Gerrie Scheepers, Hottie Louw, Werner Greeff and many more. The Modulbox featured a lounge area for the guests to relax in, with an MSP Developments information desk.

The generosity of the companies and guests attending helped MSP Developments to raise R80 000, and many companies also pledged their support towards the building process.

A special mention must be made of co-sponsors Itec Cape Town, Radio Tygerberg, Mostert & Bosman Attorneys and C2M Chartered Accountants, who made the day possible.

“This year was a great success,” says Sarah Bateman, the MSP Developments Public Relations Officer. “Lydia and all the children were present at the event and it was amazing to see how everyone’s hearts melted the moment they saw the beautiful children.”

“MSP Developments are greatly appreciative of all the sponsors and the support from all of the great people involved. We cannot wait to get the ball rolling for the next ‘Play to Give’ charity golf day.”

THE MODULBOX FACES UP TO THE CAPE OF STORMS AND WINS

THE MODULBOX FACES UP TO THE CAPE OF STORMS AND WINS

Scan Display’s mobile exhibition system, the Modulbox, recently proved its outdoor versatility and stability when it withstood Cape Town’s notorious gale force Southwester on Camps Bay beach. This promotion was part of an extensive national roadshow which saw the Modulbox placed in various locations around Durban, Plettenburg Bay, St Francis Bay, and Knynsa.

Justin Hawes, MD of Scan Display adds, “Another characteristic of the Modulbox which impressed the client was re-usability of the box. The same customised box was used in seven locations in Cape Town and in several other cities making it a very cost-effective way to take a brand to a wide variety of audiences across a broad geographical area.”

The Modulbox is a modular, portable ‘stand in a box’ which is custom designed to a client’s specifications. Scan Display, in partnership with Modulbox Germany, manufactures this innovative system locally. This allows Scan to keep the price down while clients still benefit from cutting-edge German design.

“This promotion once again demonstrated the Modulbox’s superiority over other outdoor promotional spaces such as gazebos and shelters, when the stand stood true and proud in the face of winds of up to 50km per hour. It also demonstrated the Modulbox’s quick-set up time, versatility and re-usability,” concludes Hawes.

Comment for Modulbox Germany | 21 October 2009

Scan Display is one of South Africa’s largest exhibition, event and display companies. The company recently formed a partnership with Modulbox Germany to manufacture and market the innovative Modulbox system in Southern Africa. Scan believes the modular, portable system will be the perfect marketing vehicle for companies during the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2010.

“The Modulbox has proved extremely popular in South Africa. In the few months since we launched the concept we have already sold units to clients ranging from one of the largest cellular providers in Southern Africa to a national retail chain. Customers love the idea of a portable exhibition stand or show room. They also like the idea that it is manufactured locally, thereby allowing them to benefit from international design at a locally-manufactured price,” says Justin Hawes, MD of Scan Display.

“We have already successfully road-tested one of our Modulbox units at Coca Cola Park, one of the FIFA World Cup venues,” says Hawes. (See attached picture.) Scan will have Modulbox units available for hire during the World Cup. Scan Display has been in the exhibition and display business since 1996. It has offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town, Durban and Gaborone and a network of distributors throughout Southern Africa. International business currently accounts for twenty-percent of Scan’s annual turnover. In just the last couple of months, Scan has worked with high profile international clients Bayer, MAN Ferrostaal, Boehringer Ingelheim and US exhibitions company, Freeman.

In 2006, Scan became the first South African member of the International Federation of Exhibition & Event Services (IFES), the international association of exhibition services providers. Scan was also the first African member of the United States’ largest exhibition contractors’ association, Exhibit Designers and Producers Association (EDPA). Scan Display has the industry experience and local knowledge to offer European clients a comprehensive exhibition, display and design service during the FIFA World Cup 2010.
